Congratulations you are pregnant!!! Now what??
Whether its a big surprise or you have done some “planning”, you and your partner now have a few more major decisions to make.
To tell or not to tell? That is the question.
Depending on your situation, many soon-to-be parents choose to stay tight-lipped until the pregnancy reaches the 12 week mark. After this point, the critical life systems of baby are formed and some parents feel more comfort in celebrating this news with others. However, if there has been a previous loss or a false positive, perhaps the choice to divulge may not come until a much later time. On the other hand, some couples are so excited, they barely let the pee dry before they are tweeting their positive sign to the world!
Who you tell first and how?
Believe it or not, the order in which you make said announcement may hold just as much weight as the method you choose to tell everyone. For example, your mother might not prefer to be the 124th person to “like” your birth announcement on Facebook. Likewise, your bestie might find it cheesy to find out via SMS or Instagram. To avoid any unnecessary fallouts, keep it classy or old fashioned and if you can, take a moment to divulge the news on a personal visit or call to those you hold dearest.
Once you get the politics taken care of, have fun and get creative!
There are so many fun aps and websites that allow you to be your own creative designer these days. If you are up for the challenge, why not take advantage of this technology by designing the perfect baby announcement to kick off your new journey? You can find so many great ideas on Pinterest! Here was ours!
