Valentine’s Day “Kiss” Recipe

I’m pretty sure most us have made rice crisp dessert squares before but why not shape it into something extra yummy and special for this Valentine’s Day?  As Brandnewmoms, we don’t have hours to spend baking. But that doesn’t mean home made gifts are out of the question! Here is a cute spin on an old favourite!

 You probably already have all of these ingredients in your pantry already!

Cutting your butter into smaller pieces allows it to melt more evenly and faster.

 The fresher the marshmallows, the softer and chewier your rice crisp kisses! Lightly grease your spatula to prevent a sticky mess.

Lightly grease your mold or bowl.

With greased fingertips hand mold the top of the Kiss!

Using a permanent marker, write your Valentine’s Day message on pieces of parchment paper!

Tuck the parchment into the Kiss and wrap with aluminum foil!

Giant Valentine’s Day Rice Crisp Kisses Recipe

Prep: 2 mins

Time: 5 mins

Yield: Depends on mold/bowl. I got three large Kisses

 

Ingredients

6 cups rice crisp cereal

4 cups mini marshmallows

3 Tbsp Butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

Aluminum foil

Parchment Paper

funnel or mold (optional)

Permanent marker

 

Directions

1. Add butter, vanilla and marshmallows in microwavable bowl for 1 minute. Stir. Put it back in for another quick minute. Continue until mostly melted.

2.Mix in rice krispies

3.Butter mold, push rice crisp mixture into mold

4.Remove from mold

5. Print your Valentine’s Day love message on paper

6.  Allow to set 5 mins

7. Wrap in foil with message!

 

*other add ins, coconut flakes, nuts, sprinkles

    I love this! My sister used to make something similar with different kinds of chocolate and peanut butter! They were always a hit. I love adding mint chocolate chips to rice krispies it’s my favorite flavor.
