You may have walked passed the mirror and saw what looked like a teenage version of yourself! You can thank the increase in oestrogen during pregnancy which has done wonders for your aesthetics! Your hair is as thick and silky as Repunzels’, your nails as healthy and hard as an acrylic French mani, and your skin is literally glowing like the sunrise. This more youthful look can do wonders for your mood and keep you feeling wonderful despite any inherent pregnancy physical symptoms you may be experiencing.

Furthermore, your breasts are as plump as ripe grapefruit and your bootie may have a lil more wiggle and ‘pop’! Don’t hide those lady lumps!! Although maternity wear can be pricey at times, skip the 24/7 sweat suit look and show off those voluptuous curves in a bump-hugging body-con! So bask in your enhanced beauty and don’t be afraid to primp and prop!

The Positive Attention

There aren’t too many times in your life when you’ll hire a professional photographer. Having a maternity photo shoot to capture these physical changes by a pro will make you feel like Cindy Crawford for the day and will dually give you something to hum and ha over post-partum!

That pregnancy glow, plump boobs and baby bump may have also inspired your partners’ libido to new levels as well! Do not be surprised if your significant other is a little more hands on than usual. After the baby is born, you’ll wonder how you even got pregnant in the first place!

Likewise, you will come to miss all of the random belly petters and ooglers whose day you seem to make just by endowing your bump in public.

 Allow me

When I was pregnant people began to treat me like I was no longer capable of taking care of myself. This took some getting used to as I am a professed control freak. No one would let me do any heavy lifting, insist on getting the door and put my coat on for me. I then conceded as I realized these courtesies would be long gone as soon as the baby was born. So enjoy it while you can!

Baby Bond

Last but certainly not least, you WILL miss the special bond you shared with your little one in utero. No one else can ever boast about such a unique bonding relationship and phenomenal blessing. Those kicks to your ribs and rumbly gassy feelings in your tummy are a short-term thing! I miss it sooo much!

So, these 9 months will fly by…but before they do, soak it all in. Enjoy, be thankful, be mindful and love the beautiful state you’ve been so blessed to experience.

I do not handle pregnancy well. I’ve had preeclampsia with my pregnancies and struggled to carry to term so I had premies, but I remember that wonderful feeling of another human being moving inside you. There is nothing in the world quite like it.

All of this is SOO true! I miss my baby belly! It was the most wonderful thing having a little one growing inside of you. Now my baby is 6 and although I love it just as much now I miss her being a tiny tot every day! Time does go by so fast but every passing minute is so precious! Thanks for linking up at Totally Terrific Tuesday! I love your blog!

I miss being pregnant. I have had the wonderful privilege of carrying 4 children to term. While a couple of them were rough to begin with, I enjoyed every moment. Every once in a while, I will catch myself thinking, “I can do this again. I’d like to this again.” Then I’m pulled into reality knowing with 4 kids, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it as much as my others. I will definitely miss palpating my own tummy and figuring out which position baby is in and verifying it with my midwives. I will miss those monthly meetings with my midwives. I will miss labor and delivery and the rawness to the core that it is. There is a lot that I will miss but I’m also thankful I was given the opportunity to carry each one of them.

BTW, I found you on the BlogHop
